The Founder Race
“These sudden outbursts are usually characterised by an extraordinary display of energy and courage.
The new conquerors are normally poor, hardy and enterprising and above all aggressive.”
— Johnn Glubb (1976)
Note: We have copied (word by word in many cases) some paragraphs from John Glubb's essay The Fate of Empires and Search for Survival. Mainly because they were written in a better way than we possible could. See the original essay with our notes here
We are fans of founders.
In the wake of pro minority movements, we have decided to take a completely different stance: “NO lives matter, except that of the founders”.
Yes, there is a master dominant human race: the founder race.
The individual will always be more valuable than society, and the founders are the most valuable individuals of all. All progress depends on the unreasonable founder.
The dollar bill should read: “in founders we trust.”
During the last years, most investors in Silicon Valley had this stupid believe that they have the upper hand in building companies. The only people who have the upper hand are founders.
Money is always in better supply than courage.
Men follow courage, not money.
Travis Kalanick is forever in the Olympus of courageous people who pushed progress forward, while Benchmark is a commodity investment outlet nobody will remember in a few years.
The founder race is characterized by:
- bursting with courage, energy and initiative
- fearless of failure, but scared to death about mediocrity
- vision falls outside the spectrum of normalcy
- pioneers with twenty years nation-building mindsets
- cut-throat conquerors untrammeled by traditions
- incredible enterprise and hardihood to overcome obstacles
- cannot easily be restrained from subduing their competitors
Founders are truly a phenomenon.
Their sudden eruptions as outsiders from out of a desert to attack a super-power, and bring about a new formidable nation, is humanity’s most renewable resource.
When the whole human race has reached the stage of decadence, where will new energetic conquering races be found?
The answer is always the same: The Founder Race.
“Even sceptics who scorned the possibility that a fellow mortal might truly become a god were happy to concede its civic value. ‘For the human spirit that believes itself to be of divine origin will thereby be emboldened in the undertaking of mighty deeds, more energetic in accomplishing them, and by its freedom from care rendered more successful in carrying them out.”
– Tom Holland, “Dominion: How the Christian Revolution Remade the World”.
